Nasme

Privacy Policy

Last updated 22 August 2026

Nasme is a guide to recurring weekly events at venues in the United Arab Emirates. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it. It describes the app as it actually works, not a general template.

The short version

1. Who we are

Nasme ("we", "us") is an independently operated mobile application. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@nasme.ae. We respond to privacy requests within 30 days.

2. What we collect

2.1 If you browse without an account

Browsing requires no account. In this mode we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts. The only data generated is the anonymous product analytics described in section 2.4, which is not linked to any identity.

2.2 If you sign in

An account is optional and exists so the things you keep (your saved venues and your plans) follow you to another device. Nasme does not operate email-and-password accounts, so there is no password to choose or remember. You can sign in in any of these ways:

Whichever method you use, we hold the same three things: an account identifier, an email address, and a name if the provider gave us one. The name is used solely to greet you on the Profile screen, and if we do not have one the app simply greets you without it. We never use your email address for marketing, and we send no newsletters or promotional email. The only email Nasme ever sends you is a sign-in link you have just asked for.

2.3 What you create in the app

When you are signed in, we store a small amount of content against your account so it works across your devices:

Separately, whether or not you are signed in, you can send us:

Reports and suggestions are a one-way channel to us, used only to keep listings accurate and to decide what to add; we do not show them back to you in the app. If you are signed in they are stored with your account identifier, so we can make sense of repeated reports about the same place; if you are browsing as a guest they carry no identity at all.

2.4 Product analytics

We use PostHog (hosted in the European Union) to understand which parts of the app are used, so we know what to improve. This is deliberately narrow:

2.5 Crash and performance diagnostics

We use Sentry (hosted in the European Union) to record app crashes and basic performance data, for example how long a screen takes to appear and when the app freezes, so we can find and fix problems. A crash report contains your device model, operating-system version, app version, and a technical stack trace.

It also carries a short trail of what happened just before the problem (screens you opened, taps, and the app's own requests to our servers), because a fault is often impossible to fix without knowing what led to it. That trail is filtered before it leaves your device: the part of a request address that identifies your account is removed, and anything shaped like an email address is replaced with a placeholder.

It does not contain your name, email address, or account identifier: Sentry is deliberately configured without user identification and with IP-address collection turned off, and there is no session or screen recording. Crash reports are not linked to your identity.

2.6 Location

Location is optional and never required to browse. The app asks for permission only at the moment it would be used, when you open a venue's location section or tap the locate-me control on the map, not when you first launch the app.

If you grant it, your device location is used on your device to show how far a venue is from you and to centre the map. Nasme requests only "while using the app" access; it never tracks your location in the background. Your location is not transmitted to our servers, not stored, and not attached to analytics events. If you decline, every screen still works; only the distance figure and the locate-me button are unavailable.

2.7 What we do not collect

Nasme does not collect or request contacts, photos, camera access, microphone access, health data, precise background location, advertising identifiers, or payment information. There are no in-app purchases and we never handle card details.

3. Why we process your data (legal bases)

4. Who your data is shared with

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We use a small number of processors purely to run the app:

We may also disclose data where we are legally required to do so.

5. Links out of the app

Nasme is a discovery tool, so much of it deliberately hands you off elsewhere: a venue's booking page, WhatsApp, a phone dialler, Instagram, Uber, or a maps application. Once you leave, that service's own privacy policy governs, not ours. We do not receive, and cannot see, what you do after you leave. We record only that a link of that type was tapped, and for which venue.

6. Where data is stored, and for how long

Account data is held by Supabase, analytics data by PostHog, and crash and performance diagnostics by Sentry, all on servers in the European Union. Because Nasme serves users in the UAE, this involves an international transfer of data, made under the providers' standard contractual protections.

We keep your account, your saved venues and your plans for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and they are removed immediately (see section 8). Analytics events are retained in aggregate for up to 24 months. Reports and suggestions are kept for as long as they remain useful for keeping listings accurate, de-identified if you delete your account (see section 8).

7. Security

Connections use HTTPS. Database access is protected by row-level security, meaning your saved venues and your plans are readable and writable only by your own account. Nasme's app contains no administrative or write credentials; the app can only ever read public venue and event listings, read or write your own saves and plans, and submit a report or suggestion. Reports and suggestions can be submitted but never read back by the app, by you or by anyone else.

8. Your rights and how to exercise them

Deletion is built into the app. Open Profile โ†’ Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, your saved venues and your plans. It is immediate and cannot be undone; there is no recovery window. Any reports or suggestions you have sent us are kept so that our listings stay accurate, but they are de-identified: your account identifier is removed from them, so they can no longer be linked to you.

You may also request access to your data, correction of it, a portable copy, or that we restrict or stop processing it, and you may object to our legitimate-interest processing. Write to hello@nasme.ae. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings. You can revoke Nasme's access to your Apple ID under iOS Settings โ†’ your name โ†’ Sign in with Apple, and its access to your Google account in your Google account's security settings.

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Age

Nasme is intended for adults. Many of the venues it lists are licensed premises serving alcohol. The app is rated 18+, is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, surface a notice in the app. Continuing to use Nasme after a change means you accept the updated policy.
